Normally, there's one ureter draining urine and coming out from each kidney. This case shows double ureters from each! This is a congenital abnormality in which a partial or complete duplication of one or both ureters occurs in 1 in 150 people. There is a potential for urinary obstruction due to hydronephrosis (fluid-filled kidneys) or a neonatal presentation of urinary tract infection because of abnormal flow of urine and the entrance of two ureters into the bladder in close proximity. Although very common, this condition rarely causes symptoms and is mostly an incidental finding.
