Orbital implant was placed after the removal. The eyeball contains a fluid called aqueous humour which is constantly produced by the eye, with any excess drained though tubes.Glaucoma develops when the fluid cannot drain properly and pressure builds up, known as the intraocular pressure. As time passes, damage to the optic nerve and nerve fibers of the retina takes place, leading to blurred vision and blindness, in addition to severe eye pain and headache.There are many treatment methods for glaucoma, including eye drops to lower the pressure, Laser trabeculoplasty which helps fluid drain out of the eye, and enucleation (removal of the eye) for those with severe glaucoma and permanent vision loss.
