It is the first component of CREST syndrome, which includes Calcinosis cutis, Raynauds phenomenon, Esophageal dysmotility, Sclerodactyly and Telangiectasias. CREST syndrome is a type of systemic scleroderma where anti-centromere antibodies result in systemic inflammatory autoimmune connective tissue pathology.
