She doesn’t have a fever, but she does have a runny nose. She’s been in pain for 4 days and it is intensified after talking, eating and swallowing saliva. Family doctor ignored the problem, the prescribed drugs do not work. Is that a suppuration? What should I do?

If strep is neg then good old fashioned gargle with 0.12% chlorhexidine mouthwash bid. Amazing what that stuff can do and if no improvement then go with antibiotics. For chronic tonsiloliths and especially if there are tonsil crypts use daily vigorous gargle with 5mL cider vinegar in 25mL water.
