A 57 years old man presented with multiple TIA’s (transient ischemic accidents) and no further medical history. During the work up they saw a big mass in the left atrium on the ultrasound, suspectable for a myxoma. The man underwent a heart surgery and the mass was sent to the pathologist. This is a myxoma with a diameter of 5 cm. When it is fully removed the prognosis is good and the recurrence rate is nearly zero percent. Surgery needs to be performed very precisely because when a piece let go it can cause major problems such as a CVA.
