This is a hysterectomy (surgical removal of the uterus) due to fibroids! Uterine fibroids, also called leimyomas or myomas, are non-cancerous (benign) growths that originate in the muscular wall of the uterus. Fibroids are the most common type of tumor found in female reproductive organs. Symptoms vary depending on the size and number of fibroids; heavy and prolonged menstrual bleeding, pain and pressure in lower abdomen, constipations and urination controlling problems. The surgical treatment is shown here, total hysterectomy, is done in rare cases where the fibroids are too huge and resist hormonal medical treatment. Photo by @jayna219
