A 19 year old female presents with some abdominal pain. She has been bleeding for two weeks, but the blood is only visible when she wipes (vaginal). What could cause this & what is a possible diagnosis?

Hi Guadalupe, vaginal bleedig is very scary, but there could be a lot of explanations; from pregnancy to urinary tract infection. If you are for instance taking the pill back to back, you could experience some spotting. Usually it doesn’t take two weeks though. Due to the length of complaints and the location, it is wise to go to a gp let them take a look. If you feel uncomfortable alone, bring a sister or a friend. Good luck!
