Another abbrevation word, just the way i like it. It tells what the disease does to the patient. TAR syndrome is a congenital disorder resulting in low platelet levels (thrombocytopenia) and the abscence of the radius bone in the forearm (sometimes thumb too). As we know, thrombocytopenia prevents normal blood clotting, resulting in easy bruising and frequent nosebleeds, but sure there can be potentially life threatening bleedings may occur in the brain (can result in intellectual disorders in kids) or other organs, mostly in the early stages. Syndrome means a combination of medical problems that shows the existence of a particular disease or a mental condition. Thus TAR syndrome can have other features like skeletal abnormalities (micrognathia, prominent forehead and low set of ears), kidney and heart conditions. Thanks for reading and take care :)
