The disease cholera is endemic in India . The transmission is :via fecal -oral route or direct contact but mostly by ingestion of contaminated water (large infectious dose is needed) or contaminated food (small dose is enough to cause the infection). clinical presentation :rice water diarrhea and dehydration pathogenesis:The desease is toxin medieted( the toxin cause the desease but not the bacteria itself) itβs an AB5 toxin that bind to M cell in the ileum and cause an excessive fluid loss (20L per day) which well lead to dehydration,acidosis and diarrhea Treatment :tetracycline / proper nutrients for rehydration
