Why do we need mydriasis and cycloplegia for testing error of refraction?

Yes ,it needs both mydriasis n cycloplegia.....but for fundoscopy examination mydriasis is enough....

Due to cycloplegia eyes loses its ability to focus on near objects which is essential during testing of refraction of eyes
