Aortic CUFF insertion

Aortic CUFF insertion

This video demonstrates the proper insertion technique for a device (aortic cuff) to facilitate minimally invasive , mini-thoracotomy aortic valve replacement. This provides the necessary exposure to the aortic annulus, especially in the region of the right coronary cusp. Visualization of the annulus is more difficult in heavily calcified aortic roots as well as bicuspid valves. With a bicuspid valve the snare is placed between the left and right commissure.
