Tuberculosis

The above Picture depicts Tuberculosis (TB) affected lungs. An infectious diseases caused by mycobacterium tuberculosis spread through the air from one person to another. The target area of this bacteria is in the lungs but it can attack other parts of the body such as kidney, spine and brain. The inhalation of the bacteria settles in the lungs where it grows. It can then move in the blood circulation traveling to other important regions of the body. There are 2 major TB conditions; latent TB infection and TB disease. Latent TB is when the bacteria is present in your body but will not get you sick. Our bodes immune system fight off the bacteria and prevent if from growing. TB disease is when the immune system is not able to fight off the bacteria therefore making the person very sick. Basic TB symptoms are such as pain in the chest, coughing up blood, weight loss, chills, fever and sweating at night. Also tuberculosis has a tendency to increase in drug resistant stain of the bacterium. •Treatment: The antibiotics to fight TB were created more than 60 years ago and now used widely to treat the infection with a good satisfaction rate.
