This is a rare case of polymelia in a 7-month-old male child who presented with developed lower limbs and an additional several underdeveloped left lower limbs. Polymelia is a birth defect which involved in forming and duplication of incomplete extra parts of the body that usually impact on deformed and shrunken limbs. The extra limbs came from supposedly twins, conjoined twins and are commonly deformed. This happens when embryo starts as conjoined twins but didn’t continue to develop. The accessory limbs are attached to various body regions and could be classified as cephalomelia (extra-limb attached to the head), notomelia (limb attached to the back bone), thoracomelia (attached to thorax), and pyromelia (attached to pelvis). These anomalies are usually associated with genetic factors including tamogenes, chromosomes, and environmental agents. Treatment for such a case like ours requires surgery to detach the soft tissue between false limb and the true pelvic region.
