A) To make the suturing of the three-cornered flap easier, a periosteal elevator is used to elevate a small amount of fixed tissue so that the suture can be passed through the entire thickness of the mucoperiosteum. (B) When the three-cornered flap is repositioned, the first suture is placed at the occlusal end of the vertical-releasing incision (1). The papillae are then sutured sequentially (2, 3), and finally, if necessary, the superior aspect of the releasing incision is sutured (4).
