What happens when lymphocytes high in count ??? How we can know without doing CBC ??? What are the symptoms ???
High lymphocyte count indicates acute viral infections most commonly. You can't know its high unles you do a CBC but you can suspect a viral cause or otherwise based on certain clinical clues and patient's history. When we do a CBC with differential and a peripheral smear , it tells us more details about shape and size of these increased Lymphocytes in the blood and rules out different forms of Leukemic. Symptoms depend on the cause of Lymphocytosis.
In cases like leukemia, where we can have WBC numbers up to 200,000 there is the danger of leukostasis, occlusion of small vessels from packed leukocytes, causing either microinfarctions or vessel ruptures and bleeds.
