Prolactin

Secreted mainly by anterior pituitary Stimulates the milk production in breast and inhibits the ovulation in females and spermatogenesis in male by inhibiting GnRH synthesis and release. Prolactin secretion is regulated by dopamine from tuberoinfundibular pathway of the hypothalamus. Prolactin inhibits its own secretion by increasing dopamine synthesis and secretion from hypothalamus
