Thyroid acropachy

Thyroid acropachy is a rare consequence of autoimmune thyroid disease occurring in approximately 1% of patients with Graves’ disease. It can occur in euthyroid, hyperthyroid or hypothyroid patients or even post treatment. The majority of patients are smokers. It produces soft tissue swelling, finger clubbing and periosteal reaction of the extremities.
