Sorry arsalan, you're clearly right, just thought I'd add something from what I remember from my medical semiology classes for those who might not know :)

If not properly visible, apply pressure to the liver. Whrn the distention is clear, measure from the most superior distension point (90 degrees) to the 2nd intercostal space, anything above 10 cm (5 from the clavicle) is pathological (if my memory is not failing me).
