What are the equipment used in electroconvulsive therapy (ECT)?
The electroconvulsive therapy treatment room and the recovery room should consist of equipment that are helpful in managing medical emergencies. Equipment should be available to provide suction, monitor vital signs, including cardiac rhythm and hemoglobin oxygen saturation. The following equipment should be available: • American Society of Anaesthesiologists monitors • Stethoscope • Blood pressure monitor • Electrocardiography (EKG) monitor • Pulse oximeter • Suction apparatus • Intubation set • Oxygen deliver system • Anaesthetic induction supplies • Ventilatory equipment • Resuscitation equipment • Nasal Cannula • Bag valve mask • Nerve stimulator • Electromyograph • Electroencephalography leads • Multiple blood pressure cuffs
