Hello, i am a new med student and will get starting my study soon. But i hv a bit depression and terrified in order to got into this field. In short, i am lacking my confident. Do u hv any suggestion wht should i do to get a new spirit on me.
Don't be scared about the fact that you don't know anything yet, it's a complicated field and there's a lot of information to process and to understand. I'm convinced most people feel like you do now as they're about to start out but trust me on this: your teachers and the material given to you will teach you everything you need to know in a comfortable pace. If you feel like you're passionate about medical related things it will be even easier. The first year won't necessarily make a lot of sense to you but that's because you're building up a foundation that is necessary to have as you move on to more complicated stuff (first year eg. Anatomy). The truth is that literally anyone can become a doctor once they're in medical school, you don't have to be incredibly intelligent or book smart (these things are helpful for sure and some people just go through the whole thing like it's nothing, but in the end that's not what makes a good doctor), you just have to work hard for it, sometimes very hard. But if this is what you really want I assure you that things will get easier on the way and you will begin to perceive things as ridiculously interesting. Just take it as it comes and I'm sure you will be successful, best of luck!
I'm happy you feel that way. Don't hesitate to write if you have further concerns or questions in general, there are a lot of people here with insight who can help you and give you valuable advice as you go along :)
Thnaks you so much for your advices. It is very worthwhile for me as i always thinking fr twice to grab this chance. But now i feel more better, thanks again.
Be honest with your self, and love what you have to do. I'm a new medstud in this year too :)
First, think about why you want to become be doctor ? Then if u have a strong reason for u to become a doctor that will be good. second make some list for your what you want exactly . Then make a rule and step how to achieve your target like discipline, determination, persistent, . Good luck
It's okay to not feel okay. If youre depressed because of what's upcoming, Jonas's advice is spot on. If you feel depression independent of that, I really recommend seeing a therapist regularly and antidepressants can be great through your studies because they also are indicated for anxiety. I find they help me with my stress for school.
