How can I keep my baby safe during hot weather?

One good way is to freeze a bottle of water upside down and allow baby to suck on the bottle in hot weather. You can provide wet wash cloths for baby to play with, and keep baby in minimal clothing.

• Keep your baby out of direct sunlight. • Do not use sunscreen. • Dress them with light clothing. The fabric must be light but it should cover all parts of body. A hat with wide brim is most important. It should cover the head and back of neck completely. • Give them plenty of fluids i.e. breast milk. • Keep them in shade but don’t cover them as it may become humid. • Keep them under fan. • Let them play in water.
