Polycystic Kidney Disease. I have donated my original hand-drawn medical illustration of a pair of kidneys with PKD to @kidneycareuk for their auction for #worldkidneyday #Kidneydisease is increasing globally, and can be caused by a number of health issues such as diabetes and high blood pressure. Another cause of kidney disease is #polycystickidneydisease - a genetic condition where people develop large cysts on their kidneys, taking over the healthy tissue. As a result people lose their kidney function over time, with some progressing to #kidneyfailure . Kidney disease is an overwhelming condition to have, particularly in the end-stages, and @kidneycareuk does incredible work providing help, support and advocacy for people who are impacted by it.
