Diabetes rash has varying presentations with different associations. Bullosis diabeticorum, or simply blisters, are painless patches on the back of hands, forearms, feet and legs. Diabetes dermopathy presents with light-brown scaly patches in round or oval shapes mostly on shins therefore also known as shin spots. Digital sclerosis refers to thick, waxy and hardened skin on the back of hands mostly in Type 1 Diabetes. Necrobiosis lipoidica diabeticorum (NLD) is itchy, painful, and red and raised patches with yellow center. It is common in women. Lastly, Diabetes Foot Syndrome is a comparatively common skin complication in diabetes. It develops due to trauma to foot.
