Bankart lesion is a complication of recurrent anteroinferior dislocation of the glenohumeral joint. Repeated subluxation of the humeral head damages the glenoid labrum, a fibrocartilaginous structure surrounding the glenoid cavity. The condition is managed by arthroscopic or open repair of the Bankart lesion along with the tightening of the capsule.
