Subgaleal Hematoma

Subgaleal hematoma refers to accumulation of blood in the subgaleal aponeurosis beneath the subcutaneous tissue of the scalp. It is usually found in newborn who are delivered via vacuum-assisted vaginal delivery. However, it can also occur in trauma patients and it can overlie the skull fracture.
