Hello, I’m a teenager from Germany that is really interested in studying medicine and becoming a doctor. I want to go to a med school in America or England though, my favorite uni’s are UCLA, Yale, Harvard etc. I want to know if I even had a chance to get accepted. Until now, no uni replied to my emails. Please help me if you know more. Living in america or england has been my dream since I was 5.
I think this is what a couple of the other comments said, but studying in the US out of choice is so, so financially irresponsible. You'd be in extreme debt for the rest of your life. You could study in Germany and then do an equivalency diploma in the US which will be a lot less costly. As for the UK, I don't recommend it at the moment. Brexit is a mess and the NHS is going to end up private with thousands of medical professionals begging for their jobs.
Hi, my name is Filip and Im a 3rd y. medstudent in Zagreb, Croatia. If you're looking for a good place to study med. I really have to recommend the Faculty of med on the University of Zagreb (where I study). I study on Croatian program, there is also an English program and they have the same professors as we do. Most of these professors have also studied or worked part of their life in different countries and they are all very pleasant and well educated. The faculty is pretty cheap (around 1000-1500€ per year). All my foreign friends that study on English program (from Israel, UK, Deutschland, Canada, USA etc) are very satisfied with pretty much everything (atmosphere, people, education, etc). Also on English program there are arround 50 students per generation and that gives professors the oportunity to work with evey student individualy especially if you are willing to work. You will be given the opportunity to do anything that interests you from the begining, including working in hospita and doing scientific research. It all depends on how hard are you willing to work. For me one of the most important things about studying is that you have a lot of friend and people who are willing to help you with what you need. Because we are a quite small faculty you know almost everybody from every year and you can ask any of these people for help and they will either help you or point you to someone who can help you with what you need. I havent met a single person who regrets signing up on this college. If you want I can give you much more info if you are interested.
