Antimicrobial resistance is the failure to treat a micro-organism with a medicine which had potent effect against it previously. In other words, medicines become ineffective against pathogens as they build resistant for that specific medicine. Antimicrobial resistance occurs as a result of; • Inappropriate use of antimicrobials • Discontinuing antimicrobial in the mid of course • Wrong prescriptions • Poor infection control
