Cecal Volvulus

Cecum volvulus is a rare from of the intestinal obstruction. Radiologically, it appears as embryo-like structure. The patient may present with acute abdominal pain and discomfort. Abdominal distension, nausea, and vomiting are other common complaints. Cecal volvulus is treated surgically via cecopexy. If gut is damaged irreversibly, intestinal resection may be done.
