Atrial fibrillation is an arrhythmia characterized by non-discernible P waves. The management of atrial fibrillation depends on hemodynamic status of the patient. If the patient is hemodynamically unstable, cardioversion is imperative. In patients who are hemodynamically stable, the management aims at rate control and rhythm control. The rate is controlled by beta-blockers or calcium channel blockers. The rhythm is mostly controlled by amiodarone.
