How is Strep Throat different from Pharyngitis and Tonsilitis?
Strep Throat; • Swollen lymph nodes with streaks or patches of white pus • Petechiae i.e. tiny red dots on hard or soft palate • Fever i.e. 101˚F (38˚C) or higher • No stiff neck • No stomach upset Pharyngitis/Tonsillitis • Swollen lymph nodes with yellow discoloration • No petechiae, only redness and soreness • Fever, lower than Strep Throat • Stiff neck • Stomach neck
