Following people should get tested for Hepatitis A • poor sanitation and hygiene • living in a household with an infected person • lack of safe water • being a sexual partner of someone with acute hepatitis A infection • sex between men • use of recreational drugs • travelling to highly endemic areas Following people should get tested for Hepatitis B • Infants of infected mothers • People sharing syringes, needles and medical equipments e.g. glucometres • People who have sex with infected partners • Men having sex with men • Healthcare professionals exposed to blood • Hemodialysis patients Following people should get tested for Hepatitis C; • People who use injectable drugs • People on regular hemodialysis • People with organ transplants • Healthcare providers who usually come in contact with blood • Infants born to infected mother • People who casually share personal items e.g. razor, toothbrush, combs and medical equipments • People with piercing and tattooes
