Bulimia nervosa is an Eating Disorder with a pattern of alternately eating low-calorie diet and high-calorie forbidden foods. In this condition, the affected individual eats massive quantity of food in short duration. Guilt, shame, embarrassment and anger are the aftermaths of binge eating. The episode of binge eating is followed by compensatory behavior to prevent gaining weight. Overtime, such individuals develop; o Frequent trips to the bathroom right after meals o Chronic sore throat o Large amounts of food disappearing or unexplained empty wrappers and food containers o Swelling of the salivary glands in the cheeks o Heartburn and gastroesophageal reflux o Dental decay resulting from erosion of tooth enamel by stomach acid o Laxative or diet pill misuse o Recurrent unexplained diarrhea o Feeling dizzy or fainting from excessive purging behaviors resulting in dehydration o Misuse of diuretics (water pills)
