Thromboangiitis Obliterans AKA Buerger's Disease is a rare vasculitis. This type of vasculitis is associated with inflammation and swelling of small arteries. In addition, thrombi causes vessel occlusion and consequent ischemia. The exact etiology of thromboangiitis obliterans is not known, however, a strong associated is found between this type of vasculitis and smoking.
