Dosage of Calcium Salts The requirement and health status of every patient is different therefore, the dosage of calcium salts vary. Here is a general dosage criteria. Consult your doctor before following it. • Infants < 6 months – 200 mg by mouth/day (Source should remain breast milk/formula milk and food, giving any supplement is injurious to their health) • Infants 6-12 months – 200-260 mg by mouth/day (Source should remain breast milk/formula milk and food, giving any supplement is injurious to their health) • Children 4-8 years – 1000 mg by mouth/day • Children and adolescents 9-18 years – 1300 mg by mouth/day • Adults 19-50 years – 1000 mg by mouth/day • Adult ≥ 51 years – 1200 mg by mouth/day • Postmenopausal women – 1200 mg by mouth/day
