Morphea is a rare skin disease characterized by painless patches of discoloration. This discoloration is more marked on back, abdomen, and chest. The color of the patches is initially red to purple; with progression, the lesions may lighten. Eventually, the skin becomes shiny, thick, and dry. Morphea may resolve spontaneously. In other cases, pharmacological therapy may be given. Recurrences are common.
