Low-carb and high-protein diet are tempting to sight and taste. There is no harm is eating high-protein diet. However, continuing it for a long time is challenging for your kidneys. Protein strains your kidneys and makes you thristy. Keeping it under balance, high-protein diet helps you losing weight and building muscle. It keeps your satiety satisfied for long hours helping you avoid overeating.

Overconsumption of proteins may lead to renal complications. Amino acids are large molecules and a backlog in the kidneys can lead to strain on the glomerular vessels. Urination may be painful, dark colour and increased protein return to the blood via the renal tubules.
