Normal blood pressure is 120/80 mmHg. When blood pressure rises to 180/120 mmHg without end-organ damage or failure, it is called malignant hypertension. However, when blood pressure rises to 180/120 mmHg with end-organ damage or failure, it is called hypertensive crisis.
