Sydenham chorea is also known as St Vitus dance. It is one of the major criteria of rheumatic fever according to revised Jones criteria. It is usually associated with anti-neuronal antibodies. The condition is not permanent. It takes about 2-3 years for the symptoms to subside. Sydenham chorea in rheumatic fever is more common in females.
