Primary Ocular Herpes Simplex Infection in Viral Conjunctivitis (Pink Eye) • Common in children • Associated with follicular conjunctivitis caused by HSV typ1 I, type II may also be involved in neonates • Recurrent infection is common in adults • Recurrent infection is associated with deep strominal corneal or superficial epithelial involvement.
