Pathophysiology of Adenovirus Infections: Adenovirus enters into the human body through respiratory droplets, ingestion and contact. This groups of viruses mainly infects the GIT, eyes and respiratory tract. However, other systems like respiratory tract and urinary tract may also be infected. Adenovirus infections has good prognosis but the virus remains latent. This state often strikes an infection in the tonsils, adenoids and lymphoid tissues. Viral shedding occurs via stool and urine.
