Mutations that interfere with the activity of Ikaros , transcription factor that regulates the differentiation of hematopoietic progenitors is seen in lymphoid leukemias and other cytogenic abnormalities like trisomy 8 ..duplication of ph chromosome and isochromosome 17q often appear.CML originates from a pluripotent stem cell with both myeloid and lymphoid potential.
