Why we stimulate motor nerve at two different sites in ncv test?

Motor nerve is stimulated at two different sites so we can divide the distance between these two points by the difference in onset latencies of those two sites in order to obtain the conduction velocity in the segment of nerve between the two stimulation sites.

But in sensory nerve we stimulate nerve at only one sites there also we calculate conduction velocity..
