Genital Warts in HPV Infection • Presentation of HPV infection • Skin-colored, smooth papular warts, up to 5 mm in size, in clusters or separate located on vagina, labia majora, scrotum or penis • Exophytic lesions with hyperplastic squamous epithelium with koilocytes an dperinuclear vacuole • Only 10% of the infected individuals develop genital warts • 90% resolve within 2 years • Recurrence of lesions is due to new exposure or latent virus • Cause bleeding, itching, discomfort and pain
