Most of the times, a seizure episode is not an emergency and all you have to do is make sure the patient doesn't acquire a serious injury during such an episode. If you want to be of help: * Move sharp objects like glass tables etc. away from the patient. * Do not try to stop their movements (this may cause spastic paralysis) * Make sure their airway is patent (loosen any clothing around their neck) * Don't surround the patient (give them room) * Cushion their head if possible. However, you do need to call an emergency if the seizure lasts for more than 5 mins or if the patient gets a serious injury such as by a fall during the episode.
