Osteoporosis is the condition of bone characterized by the decrease in the overall bone density that makes the bone weak, brittle and prone to fracture. Common causes of osteoporosis includes female gender, old age, cigarette smoking, lack of exercise, alcohol, low estrogen and those with a family history of osteoporosis.
