Pencil lodged in a two-year-old's brain!

Pencil lodged in a two-year-old's brain!

The sickening injury happened as 2-year old Wren ran to show her parents a drawing but tripped on a stairgate and rammed the pencil into her eye socket. “A broken bone would be bad enough, but something happening to the eye, head or brain is one of the worst things that could go wrong,” said her father Martyn. “Fortunately my wife Michelle, who’s a nurse, kept a level head and realised not to try to get the pencil out.” He added: “The pencil bounced off the top of her eye and we have been told there was no damage to the optic nerve, which is remarkable. We only found out afterwards that the pencil missed two major blood vessels.” Credit: Tom Hutchison at Dailystar

Would you CT or X-ray first on this?

I think CT would be the more common 1st move since you have a more global view. You tend to x-ray after you know exactly where a break is. All this is in a rich western country. I couldnt say in a country where the budget is lower.
