Do all people with Epstein-Barr virus (EBV) infectious mononucleosis (mono) have symptoms?
No, not everyone with Epstein Barr Virus (EBV) have symptoms. When someone is epxosed to EBV it enters the body and remains in latent form. Upon presence of appropriate conditions, EBV becomes active. Activation of EBV is quite rare and often does not present with symptoms.
