Rash in Zika Virus Skin rash in Zika virus infection usually appears 3-12 days after the bite of infected Aedes mosquito. The rash appears in finely diffused maculopapular fashion. Gross appearance is a mixed pattern of reddish blotches and red bumps. It usually starts on trunk and gradually spreads to arms, palms, legs, soles and face. Sometimes, the rash is pruritic in nature.
