Posterior Wall MI ECG

Posterior wall MI ECG finding differ from those that are seen in other typical ST-segment elevation myocardial infarctions. Posterior wall MI frequently coexist with inferior wall MI due to shared blood supply. The acute posterior MI will how the following findings: - ST-segment depression in leads V1-V4 (septal and anterior leads) due to detection of MI backwards as the placement of leads is anteriorly and the MI is present posteriorly. - ST-segment elevation in leads I, II, III and aVF (inferior leads) if presence of coexistent inferior wall MI.
