What is verrucous carcinoma of genitalia and how is it managed?
Verrucous Carcinoma and Management • Rare ( < 5% of oral cancers), low-grade, locally invasive squamous cell carcinoma • Causative agents are HPV 6 and 11 • Develops under extreme and repeated inflammation and irritation • Cauliflower-like lesions of size > 1 cm • Risk factors include alcohol, tobacco chewing, chronic candidiasis, oral ulcerative areas, ill-fitting dentures • Treatment and management includes radical surgical extirpation, proper diet and sufficient rest.
